Trader Joe's Haul

Okay, so I know that there will be a lot of you that disagree with me on this subject, but can I just say how much I love to grocery shop? (Wait, also…do you pronounce it grow-sir-ee shop or do you say grow-shure-ee shop?) Either way you pronounce it, it’s one of my favorite pastimes. I’m not sure if it’s because for about an hour or so, I get to think about nothing other than food, or that I get to unplug? I leave my phone in my bag and just  s h o p. Where do I do this, you ask?! Well, none other than Trader Joes! If you’ve not been to a Trader Joe’s, you’re really missing out and I urge you to get to one because they’re AMAZING and I’ll tell you why…

For starters, I can head to Kroger. It’s closer to me, it’s more convenient, but when I walk in there, it’s always a wreck. The produce is always picked over, there’s always a long line for the deli, the cheese section is always in disarray, and don’t even get me started on the lack of checkout lanes—if you have a large load in the cart, forget about it. Not to mention, the last time I went into my local Kroger, a man cased me throughout the store before I knew what he was doing. He was everywhere I was and kept staring and when I finally got to the end of the store, heading up to pay, he hit me up for a piece of birthday cake and a pop. Ugh!

OH…But when I walk into Trader Joe’s, there’s a hustle and bustle of people that seem more light hearted and free haha. The store is always busy, but it’s always worth it! Their produce is better quality, they have free coffee and samples, the cheese bar seems endless, and wow, the quick frozen meals?! You can’t get better than the sweet potato gnocchi, the jasmine rice, or the orange chicken. Not to mention the have the best eggs I’ve ever tasted and their checkout people are like TETRIS WIZARDS! It even somehow costs me LESS money than if I were at Kroger or Publix.

Because Trader Joes are only in bigger cities, I feel sad for my friends that don't have access to this store...because it is so wonderful! Sara, Jaiden, and Whit came a couple of weeks ago to visit Kait and I, and we did a haul on our favorite snacks that we purchased there, and we did.some.damage. If you’re interested in seeing what we all got and watching a taste testing video, be sure to check out our vlog!

And ps. it’s pronounced ‘grow-shur-ee’ shop!

Went there for the first time last weekend in Chicago since we don’t have one near us. they have some very interesting items and really reasonable prices. We had the vegetable lasagna last night and it was a winner.
