Best 3 Dry Shampoos

After I graduated high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life, so I decided to go to Cosmetology School to become a hair stylist. After working as a stylist for six months, I decided it wasn’t for me, and I went back to school and got my bachelor’s. However, being a hair stylist helped put me through school and to this day I’m still grateful for the trade. It not only allows me to mess with my hair color on a monthly basis, it’s also another form of income for me, from my family and friends.
In fact, I used to give my sweet Grandma, perms. She called them “permanents”, because she’s the sweetest little lady. She would set her hair each week and in my mind, I’m thinking seven days!? You don’t wash your hair for  s e v e n  days!?  My hair always felt so gross after one day, but the older I get, the more I realize, she’s right! I cannot stand to style my hair anymore. Because of that, I need some heavy duty dry shampoos to get me through. In fact, after testing several out, there are only two brands that I keep going back to: IGK and Amika.

Amika - Perk Up.  - I honestly swear by Amika products. They have great consistency, they lather and condition well, and they smell amazing. After I’m done blow-drying and styling my hair, I’ll spray Amika Perk Up in my final styled look and run my fingers through it. This gives me more texture and allows my hair to have volume. I like it the first day because it’s lightweight and I don’t need anything more for my fine hair.

IGK - Direct Flight. “Multi Tasking Matcha Dry Shampoo” - This is a medium level so it has a more power than Amika. I spray this on my entire hairline, part, and crown. I let it sit for about ten seconds and then flip my head over and work throughout. It’s the perfect thing for my two day.

IGK - First Class. “Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo” - This is the deepest cleansing level. It has properties that erase oil and help detoxify the scalp. On days three and four, I use this all over, throughout my roots, to help erase oil and give my hair life. I flip my head over and work throughout, just as I had done with the Direct Flight.

Although my top end is usually anywhere from four to five days, max, my opinion is that these are hands down, the best dry shampoos I’ve ever used— after trying several out. Give them a whirl if you’re looking for a new kind, because you won’t be disappointed.

Hi! Thanks for writing this blog. I have always been curious about what dry shampoo to go with. I have super fine, thin hair. Any suggestions on which to go with? I love Amika’s Vandal and was thinking of trying their dry shampoo and any volumizing shampoo they may have. Thanks so much! Love these blogs!
